On April 1, 1995, the members of Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church heard the voice of the Lord and extended the call to one of its own son, the Reverend Kevin Dewayne Long to serve as the eighth pastor.

Under the leadership of Pastor Long, the church has adopted as its motto: "Building Bridges of Fellowship Through the Word Of God" and with this theme as our focus, we have seen a tremendous growth in our Bible Study classes and church membership.

Under the divine leadership of Pastor Long the following new ministries has been established:
- Noon Bible Study
- Children Youth Bible Study during Adult Bible Study
- Youth Church, which is held each 4th Sunday
- Senior Saints Ministry
- Re-established Junior Women which has been renamed as Women of Virtue
- Computer Ministry & Tape Ministry
- Raquad Dance Ministry
- Annual Marriage Retreat

Financial and other motivational seminars are provided that help to build the family unit as we strive to further the cause of Jesus Christ.

Pastor Long continues to allow the Holy Spirit to lead and guide him as we continue to carry out the Great Commission of the church. "Go ye therefore and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them whatsoever I have commanded thee. And lo I will be with you always even until the end of the world" (Matthew 28: 19-20).
