We, the Senior Missionary Group of Metropolitan Missionary Baptist
Church, are very proud of our missionary efforts. Our motto is in
Matthew 25:35 which says “For I was and you gave me meat. I was
thirsty and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you took me in.”
Our efforts include nursing and residential homes. We have organized
successful food and clothing drives. Our holiday festivities include
donating Thanksgiving baskets, which has become an annual event. Our
informal Christmas parties that include singing Christmas carols is
a big hit at the nursing homes. We have also visited the Juvenile
Detention Center and donated personal care and hygiene items, just
to name a few. We look forward to increasing our efforts in the
community whenever and wherever we can.

For a day in your counts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I
would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than live in
the tent of wickedness. (Psalm 84:10)
The Ushers of Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church is an
ordained ministry that is ordained by God. We are officials of
the church that introduce strangers and walk before persons of
rank. Forerunners, doorkeepers in the house of God. This helps
us to become good Stewards for Christian stewardship.
The ministry of ushering is a vital part of the church ministry.
Ushering is a ministry that has been mandated by God, we are
servants of God. We reach out to all who desire to worship God
and those who desire to worship at Metropolitan Missionary
Baptist Church.
We represent the church in a very visible way by helping set the
tone in preparation for the worship service and assisting with
the smooth operation within the worship service.
Our function is to meet, greet and seat parishioners and
visitors of Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church and assist
the Pastor with the success of the service by putting the
congregation in the right frame of mind to receive the message.
We serve the church by providing a friendly, cheerful greeting
to all those who pass through our doors and maintain order in
our sections according to polices promulgated by the Pastor and
respond to the requests and directions of the Pastor.
Additionally, we lift the offering of the tithes and mission
gifts.
Meeting times:
Senior and Young Adult Ushers meet every 1st Saturday at 12:00
noon.
Junior Ushers meet every 2nd Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
We discuss routine business and religious works and keep the
ushers informed of all upcoming events within the local church,
as well as District, State and National congress and
